Studio facilitator/ community project lead

While working at the Temiskaming Art Gallery as the Studio Facilitator, I was able to participate in many community outreach programs and this was the funnest to date. πŸ™‚

I created a miniature gallery to house the many works as we collected them with the end goal of creating a large collaborative mosaic mural.

We invited artists from all over the region to join in the creation of a permanent outdoor mural to be displayed in Haileybury at TAG’s community art studio, the Open Studio Libre (OSL).

Participants were asked to contribute mini-paintings(3″ x 4″) reflecting the wilderness and wildlife of Northern Ontario. Together the mini works will be assembled into a large collaborative work reflecting the diversity of our community and surrounding ecosystems. As we distribute and collect tiles, select mini works will be featured in our mini gallery found on the exterior of the Studio. Once all works have been received they will be assembled, varnished and mounted to their forever home.

I created several mini works of my own and was responsible for the construction and installation of the final work. This mural can be viewed on the exterior of the Open Studio Libre(OSL), located at 479 Ferguson Ave, Haileybury.
